Eagles Nest Community Information
From the main gate, the house is 4.3 miles on the main road from the main entrance. then you’ll turn right on Timber Rock Trail. Our house is the third house on the left, 85 Timber Rock Trail (lot T3).
On the 4.3 miles drive, you’ll pass “Great Camp” on the right at 2 miles. You’ll eventually get up to the mountain ridge (stop and enjoy the amazing views). Then you’ll head back down. Timber Rock Trail is approx 1 mile from the top ridge.
Community Amenities:
"Great Camp" has putt putt, archery, fields, play ground, amphitheater, etc. There is also a nice hiking spot with some rope bridges here (this is a short, fun hike that is definitely worth doing).
"North Pavilion" is the closest amenity. When leaving Timber Rock Trail, turn right on the main road. North Pavilion is 1.4 miles on the right.
North Pavilion has a pool table, indoor fireplace, bathrooms, ball fields, etc... There is a fitness center just below the North Pavilion. North Pavilion has a bistro open for lunch Wednesday thru Sunday.
There is a nice hiking spot right before you get to North Pavilion. The trail head is at the sharp left turn. There is a small waterfall and creek on this trail. It is next to the ATV trails.
“Camp Eagles Nest” has all kinds of outdoor activities. tennis, pickleball, basketball, gaga pit, etc. To get there from our home, go right from Timber Rock Trail onto the main road. Then make the next right, EagleCreek Trail. Take it to the end. There is a gravel entry on the right to Camp EN amenities.
There is a winery in Eagles Nest. It’s “members only” but you can buy a day pass. No guests allowed under the age of 16. Open Thursday - Sunday. They have food and live music most evenings.

Trash:
They have a big trash compactor in the lower parking lot at great camp. Do not leave food or trash outside - there are black bears
Food:
In the community, the Bistro at North Pavilion is open for lunch Wed - Sunday.
Saturday night, there are food trucks plus pizza at Great Camp for the live band at the amphitheater (May thru October)
Food Lion by Sugar Mountain entrance is the closest grocery. You’ll pass it on the way in. There’s a great Italian and pizza restaurant there (Bella’s) that we get to-go food from all the time there. There is a coffee shop right next Bella's.
There are a bunch of great restaurants in downtown Banner Elk (Sorrento’s, Bayou, Banner Elk Cafe & Tavern, etc).
There is also Cam Ranh Bay (Asian), Valle de Bravo Mexican, and the Pedalin Pig (bbq), all casual, but they’re slightly longer drives past downtown Banner Elk.
